Technology Transfer
INEOS Technologies is set up to efficiently and effectively transfer its technologies to the Licensee. As a major licensor of technologies, INEOS Technologies has extensive experience in technology transfer developed over many years of licensing activity in its heritage companies. Through its relationship with INEOS’ operating units, INEOS brings operating experience and knowledge of the products and markets across its whole licensing offer.
Each licence is unique. Throughout the project execution, a team of technical specialists supports the licensee in ensuring effective transfer of the technology from the initial project kick off through to beneficial operation.
Kick-off Meeting
The kick off meeting defines site specific conditions, plant scope and project definition to use as a basis for the Process Design Package (PDP). The meeting also clarifies how the project is to be executed and the exact scope of each party’s activities.
Process Design Package
The process design package is at the heart of the documentation provided to the licensee and provides sufficient detail to engineer and build the plant. While each PDP is unique, a PDP would typically include:
- Process flow diagrams
- Engineering flow diagrams
- Material balances
- Utility and effluent summaries
- Line lists
- Relief loads
- Basic control philosophy
- Equipment layout
- Instrument equipment
- Process data sheets
- Comprehensive documentation
In addition to the Process Design Package, INEOS also provides high quality documentation in the following areas: the technology fundamentals, HSE, analytical techniques, plant operation and commissioning.
Training
Training and guidance is provided at all levels, including operations, instrument and control engineers, quality control chemists and maintenance engineers. This training enables our licences to commission their plants rapidly and to operate them consistently at their design capacity.
Commissioning
Extensive technical support is provided on site during the pre-commissioning and commissioning phases of the project to ensure safe, smooth and rapid start-up taking the plants quickly to beneficial operation. Specialists provide assistance in process operations, analytical, and instrument and control areas.
Operation – Lifetime technical support
After commissioning, INEOS Technologies continues to provide support through its technical service and catalyst offerings to ensure successful on-going plant operation.
