Chlorine - Membrane Cell Coatings (Anode and Cathode)
Anode Coatings
CHLORCOAT™ CP304 anode coatings successfully satisfy the demands of either monopolar or bipolar membrane processes, by giving the following benefits:
- Excellent durability (minimum two membrane cycles)
- Low, stable chlorine overvoltages
- Low levels of oxygen in the chlorine product
Cathode Coatings
CHLORCOAT™ CP205 cathode coatings for use in membrane electrolysers offers the following benefits:
- Guaranteed energy savings as a result of significant overvoltage reduction over uncoated cathodes
- 3 or 4 membrane cycles (depending on economics)
- Stable overvoltage performance resulting from built-in resistance to poisoning and the current reversal accompanying electrolyser switch-off
- Ease of operation with no special start-up or activation procedures and simple electrolyte flushing of the electrolyser on shut down
- Corrosion resistance
- Applicable to monopolar and bipolar electrolysers
Additional Benefits (anode and cathode coatings)
Ease of application to any shape and size of membrane cell electrode (INEOS Technologies uses these coatings for its electrolysers in plants around the world)
Gaskets for Membrane Cell Technology
INEOS Technologies can provide long lasting corrosion resistant gaskets with or without PTFE protection to complete the FM™ electrode or BICHLOR™ module.
